Chapter 17 - THE DIVORCE SETTLEMENT

Daniel did not fight the divorce.
Not eventually.
He kept his ownership interests.
I kept mine.
The Porsche stayed mine.
The Del Mar house remained inside Bennett Residential Holdings.
Daniel received reasonable time to relocate.
He repaid the unauthorized portion of joint funds over a negotiated period.
No dramatic financial annihilation.
I did not want one.
I wanted separation.
Clear accounts.
Clear titles.
Clear responsibility.
Daniel once asked Rebecca privately whether I could have taken far more.
Her answer reached me later.
“Yes.”
“She chose not to.”
Daniel cried when he heard that.

I did not need him ruined.
I needed him unable to confuse my restraint with weakness ever again.
