Daniel had borrowed against his interest in Hawthorne Ventures.

Richard’s debts.

Margaret’s credit cards.

His brother’s failed restaurant.

Tessa’s mortgage.

Family.

Family.

Family.

Then.

$620,000 transferred from our joint household account into Hawthorne Estate Operations.

I had not authorized it.

Daniel claimed it represented his income.

Partly true.

But the account also contained distributions from my company used for household expenses.

Money had been mixed.

Rebecca called it traceable.
