CHAPTER 4 THE WOMAN WHO RETURNED FROM THE DEAD

The Salcedo wedding was already becoming the biggest event of the year.

Every camera in the city was pointed toward the mansion.

Every reporter wanted a glimpse of the powerful family celebrating another victory.

Nobody knew that behind the walls of that beautiful estate, a storm was approaching.

A storm named Mariana Salcedo.

Inside the wedding hall, Rodrigo stood surrounded by politicians, businessmen, and celebrities.

He smiled.

Shook hands.

Accepted compliments.

"The Salcedo family continues to inspire everyone," one guest said.

Rodrigo nodded proudly.

"Family is everything."

The words almost made him laugh.

Family.

A word he had destroyed himself.

Across the room, Elena watched the entrance carefully.

She held a glass of champagne but never drank from it.

Her eyes searched every face.

Every movement.

Every shadow.

Because she knew.

Dead people did not walk back into weddings.

But Mariana had always been different.

She had always been harder to destroy than they expected.

Outside the mansion gates, Mariana sat silently inside the car.

She watched hundreds of guests entering.

People who once smiled at her.

People who once called her "the future of the Salcedo family."

Now they believed she was unstable.

A woman who had lost control.

A woman who had abandoned her own child.

The lie was everywhere.

And tonight, she was going to tear it apart.

Santiago looked at her.

"You still have time to leave."

Mariana looked at him.

"Do you think I survived the ocean just to hide?"

He lowered his eyes.

"No."

She touched the flash drive inside her purse.

"They wanted me forgotten."

A pause.

"Tonight, they will remember my name."

The ceremony began.

Isabella walked down the aisle.

Everyone stood.

The music played.

The cameras flashed.

Rodrigo smiled proudly.

Everything was exactly how he planned.

Until the doors opened.

A sudden silence spread through the room.

People turned.

The music stopped.

And there she was.

Mariana Salcedo.

Alive.

Standing at the entrance.

For several seconds, nobody moved.

Then whispers began.

"Is that her?"

"Impossible..."

"She survived?"

Isabella's face turned completely pale.

Her bouquet slipped slightly from her hand.

"No..."

Rodrigo stared.

For the first time in years, the powerful businessman looked afraid.

Mariana slowly walked forward.

Every step echoed through the hall.

The cameras followed her.

The entire world was watching.

A reporter near the entrance whispered:

"Mariana Salcedo is alive."

Within seconds, phones came out.

The wedding became a live broadcast.

Exactly what Santiago wanted.

Rodrigo rushed toward her.

"Mariana."

His voice sounded concerned.

Fake concern.

"You shouldn't be here. You're still recovering."

The guests looked sympathetic.

They saw a worried father.

A broken family.

But Mariana knew the truth.

She smiled calmly.

"How interesting."

Everyone looked at her.

"Three days ago, you told the world I was gone."

Rodrigo froze.

"And now you're pretending to be happy I'm alive?"

The room became uncomfortable.

Elena stepped forward.

"Mariana, please. This is not the place."

Mariana looked at her mother.

The woman who pushed her son into the ocean.

"You are right."

She nodded.

"This is not the place."

A small smile appeared.

"This is the place where everyone is watching."

Behind the crowd, Santiago stood with his phone.

The plan was simple.

At the right moment, he would release the footage.

But suddenly...

His phone lost signal.

Then the backup device failed.

Then another.

Someone had entered the system.

Someone powerful.

Santiago looked around.

Someone inside the wedding was working against them.

Mariana continued.

"I came here because my family deserves to explain something."

Rodrigo forced a smile.

"Explain what?"

She looked directly at him.

"Why you tried to murder me."

The room exploded with whispers.

Guests stepped back.

Cameras moved closer.

Rodrigo laughed.

A carefully prepared laugh.

"My daughter is confused."

Elena immediately added:

"She has suffered severe trauma."

Exactly as they planned.

They turned her into the unstable woman again.

But Mariana expected this.

She reached into her purse.

And pulled out a small device.

Everyone watched.

"What is that?" Isabella whispered.

Mariana looked at her sister.

"The truth."

She pressed a button.

The giant screens behind the wedding stage suddenly turned black.

Then...

A video appeared.

The ocean.

The yacht.

The night they tried to kill her.

Everyone gasped.

Rodrigo's face lost all color.

"No."

The footage began playing.

May you like

And for the first time...

The Salcedo family watched themselves become monsters in front of the entire world.
