Chapter 13 - The Fight For The Truth

The media surrounded my father's company.

Reporters waited outside our home.

People online believed the edited video.

Some called me a liar.

Some said I was trying to ruin Ryan.

It hurt.

But I remembered something my father told me.

“Truth doesn't become false because people refuse to believe it.”

So I fought.

The legal team released evidence.

Security footage.

Financial records.

Messages.

Everything.

Then came the biggest discovery.

Michael had been recording everything.

Including Ryan admitting the plan.

The problem?

Michael had the recordings.

Not us.

Until Vanessa made a choice.

She turned against her brother.

“I have the files.”

Everyone looked at her.

My father asked:

“Why?”

She looked at me.

“Because I know what it feels like to be used by him.”

She handed over the drive.

Inside was everything.

Years of manipulation.

Bribes.

Threats.

Secret agreements.

And one final recording.

Michael’s voice.

Clear.

Cold.

“Once Ryan marries Emily, Whitmore will never suspect anything.”

I felt sick hearing my own name.

“He will trust his daughter’s husband.”

Michael laughed.

“And when the time is right, we take everything.”

The room became silent.

The truth was finally undeniable.
