Not in one cinematic afternoon.
Vivienne received a substantial sentence reflecting her role and cooperation.
Miles received more.
Bellamy lost his license and faced criminal consequences tied to financial conspiracy and obstruction.
Other participants faced fraud charges, settlements, or professional sanctions depending on evidence.
Cross Advisory collapsed.
Vivienne’s brother returned money through civil settlement and denied knowledge of the poisoning plot.
Investigators found no proof he knew about the drink.
Arthur accepted that.
Not every relative of a guilty person needed to become guilty too.
That lesson mattered.
Then the judge gave Arthur the opportunity to speak.
He kept it short.
“I am alive because someone whose name most people in that ballroom did not know decided my life mattered more than her job.”
He looked toward Sarah.
“She did not know what was in the glass.”
“She did not know the entire plan.”
“She knew something was wrong.”
“And she acted.”
Then he looked toward Miles.
“The people closest to power often believe access gives them ownership.”
“It does not.”
He sat down.
