Chapter 15: A New Legacy

Six months later, the Aranda mansion was filled with a sound it hadn't heard in decades: the joyous, piercing cry of a newborn baby.
In a private birthing suite at the city's top hospital, Alejandro held his daughter for the first time.
She had a mop of thick dark hair and her mother’s bright, observant eyes.
He looked down at the tiny, perfect life in his arms, feeling a surge of protective love so fierce it took his breath away.
Valeria watched them from the hospital bed, exhausted but glowing with happiness. “She’s beautiful,” she whispered.
“She is perfect,” Alejandro agreed, walking over and gently laying the baby on Valeria’s chest.
They had named her Elena, meaning ‘shining light.’ It was a fitting name for the child who had exposed the darkness in the Aranda family and survived against all odds.
Esther was currently awaiting trial in a high-security facility, facing a minimum of twenty years.
Arturo, having pled guilty to accessory charges, was serving a lighter sentence but was permanently estranged from his son.
The old legacy of greed and manipulation was dead.
