Charles testified in a civil hearing.
He claimed Adrian acted independently.
He claimed the plate attack horrified him.
He claimed the forged deed was prepared by Bellamy without authorization.
Then prosecutors played the basement meeting.
Charles.
If Claire stays calm, make her understand.
The courtroom went silent.
Charles tried to explain.
He meant emotionally.
Then another recording.
Charles discussing the forged transfer date.

Charles discussing the property assemblage.

Charles instructing Bellamy to create the behavioral contingency.
His story collapsed one recording at a time.
Adrian watched from the opposite table.
Something in his face changed.
Not because his father lied.
Because Charles did it easily.
Adrian had spent his entire life earning approval from a man who could erase him in one afternoon.
