Chapter 8 - ISABEL’S WARNING
Alejandro searched Isabel’s private medical archive.
Her final months had been painful.
He had spent much of that time beside her.
Still, she had protected certain files with a password he did not know.
Valentina solved it.
“Mommy liked white butterflies.”
The password was MARIPOSA.
The first video showed Isabel sitting inside the same hospital where Valentina now recovered.
She looked thinner than Alejandro remembered.
“I hope no one ever needs this.”
“But if Alejandro has married Mónica Salazar, then Ricardo’s plan succeeded.”
Isabel explained that Ricardo had approached her two years before her death.
He wanted Torres International to purchase land beside one of its coastal hotels.
The land was contaminated.
Ricardo hid the environmental reports.
Isabel discovered the fraud while reviewing charitable-clinic locations.
She reported him.
The deal collapsed.
Ricardo lost millions.

Alejandro paused the video.

She spoke gently about loss.

The payments began before Isabel died.
