Chapter 11 - Bianca’s Second Ledger
Bianca sent Priya a spreadsheet.
She called it her “private reconciliation.”
That phrase almost made me laugh.
She had kept her own record because she never trusted Adrian completely.
Smart woman.
Terrible friend.
Useful witness.
The ledger showed exactly how consulting payments were divided.
Some went to Bianca.
Some were returned to Adrian through personal reimbursements.
Some went to Genevieve’s event company.
Some went directly to Graham’s creditors.
Bianca had known about the payments to Genevieve.
She claimed she did not know they came from my company.
I did not believe all of her innocence.
But the spreadsheet matched banking records.
Then Priya found a notation.
T-CONDO RESERVE.
$750,000 projected.
I stared at it.
“What is that?”
Bianca looked uncomfortable.
“Adrian said after Elodie received the condo, Genevieve planned to refinance it.”
My entire body went still.
“They weren’t giving it to Elodie.”
“Not permanently.”
According to Bianca, Genevieve expected the deed transfer to happen before the wedding or immediately after.
Then Elodie and Marcus would use the condo as collateral for a family refinancing package.
Elodie had no idea.
Marcus had no idea.
The “gift” was designed to move my property into a structure where the Arden family could leverage it.
Suddenly the red stamp on my copied deed felt even more important.
NOT TRANSFERABLE.
I had added it because Genevieve kept speaking about the condo as if the gift were finalized.
I had no idea how close I came to confirming her plan.
Bianca looked at me.
“I thought you knew.”
I almost laughed.
That sentence followed every betrayal.
I thought you knew.
I thought you agreed.
I thought Adrian told you.
Nobody ever asked me.
That was the pattern.
Then Bianca showed us a voice memo.
Genevieve’s voice.
Once Isla transfers the unit, she can complain all she wants.
Family assets stay in the family.
I listened twice.
Then Marisol said.
“Good.”
I looked at her.

“Good?”
“That sentence is going to cost her.”
