Sebastian survived.
He had been poisoned through medication delivered by the jail pharmacy.
The order came from Dr. Franklin Wade, Charles Whitmore’s longtime physician.
Wade had also treated Daniel before the plane crash.
He had prescribed Noah’s sedative under Victoria’s name.
Police arrested him.
Wade agreed to cooperate.
He revealed that Charles planned the mansion fire with Sebastian.
Victoria administered the drug and locked Noah inside.
Sebastian planted the accelerant.
Charles instructed security guards to evacuate everyone except the east wing.
The guards were told Noah had already been moved.
Two guards knew that was false.
They remained silent because Charles controlled their pensions.
Wade also revealed Charles had planned Daniel’s death.
Sebastian sabotaged the aircraft, but Charles gave the order.
Daniel had discovered that Charles used Whitmore medical subsidiaries to test defective equipment in low-income hospitals.
Patients were injured.
Several died.
The company paid settlements and sealed the files.
Daniel intended to report everything.
The plane crash stopped him.
Sebastian had not been the architect.
He had been the obedient son Charles preferred.
When Charles learned Sebastian might confess, he ordered the jail poisoning.
The grandfather had spent decades forcing relatives to choose between loyalty and survival.
Charles requested to speak with Noah.
The meeting took place through reinforced glass.
Evelyn, Grace, Katherine, and Detective Ortiz remained nearby.
Charles wore a jail uniform without dignity or shame.
“You look like Daniel,” he said.
Noah’s hands rested on his wheelchair rims.
“People keep saying that.”
“Your father was brilliant.”
“You killed him.”
Charles’s expression tightened.
“He threatened thousands of jobs.”
“He threatened your control.”
“You are too young to understand what running an empire requires.”
“I understand you locked me in a burning room.”
Charles leaned closer to the glass.
“I did not lock the door.”
“You watched Victoria do it.”
“She panicked.”
“The camera shows you walking away.”
Charles became silent.
Noah continued.
“You called me damaged inventory.”
“That was a private message.”
“It was still what you thought.”
Charles attempted another approach.
“The company belongs to our family.”
“No.”
“It belongs legally to shareholders.”
“It depends practically on workers.”
“My father understood that.”
“You want to hand your inheritance to strangers?”
“I want strangers to stop being treated as tools.”
Charles stared at him.
“You will lose everything.”
Noah looked toward Evelyn.
Then back at his grandfather.
“I almost lost everything inside the fire.”
“Money is not everything anymore.”
Charles’s control finally broke.
“You ungrateful cripple.”
Evelyn moved forward.
Noah raised one hand.
He wanted to answer himself.
“My wheelchair did not make me weak.”
“Believing everyone had to obey you made you weak.”
Charles struck the glass.
