Chapter 8 – The Final Trap

Elena refused to hide.
Instead, she did something Victor never expected.
She invited him into the light.
Through her legal team, she announced an international financial transparency summit hosted by Voss Global Holdings.
Every major investor, regulator, prosecutor, and banking executive received an invitation.
Victor received one too.
Samuel frowned.
"You think he'll actually come?"
"No."
Elena smiled slightly.
"I think he'll send someone."
The ballroom overflowed with cameras and journalists.
As Elena finished her keynote speech, a man in an expensive navy suit quietly entered through a side entrance.
Adrian recognized him instantly.
"Victor's chief attorney."
Samuel whispered into his microphone.
"Target confirmed."
Federal agents allowed the attorney to walk freely.
Exactly as Elena had planned.
He carried a flash drive hidden inside his briefcase.
When agents intercepted him after the conference, they discovered encrypted financial ledgers linking Victor Hale directly to dozens of illegal transactions.
The attorney had unknowingly transported the evidence investigators had spent years trying to obtain.
Across the Atlantic, Victor watched the news from his private office.
His smile disappeared for the first time.
"They used my own courier."
His security chief spoke quietly.
"Our private servers have also been seized."
Victor looked toward the dark window.

"So..."
"...Elena Voss finally learned how I think."
