Chapter 9 – The Emergency Board Meeting
The Lancaster Holdings boardroom was filled before sunrise.
Directors, attorneys, auditors, and shareholders occupied every seat.
At the head of the table sat Richard Lancaster.
Beside him sat Adrian.

Her feet didn't even reach the floor.
Some directors exchanged skeptical looks.
Others simply stared at the little girl who had become the center of the biggest corporate scandal in the company's history.
Samuel connected the flash drive to the projector.
One by one, documents filled the screen.
Forged signatures.
False accounting records.
Secret payments.
Witness statements.
Audio recordings.
Every piece pointed toward one conclusion.
Celeste Vale had orchestrated everything.
When the presentation ended, the room remained silent.
Finally, an elderly director stood.
"I owe Clara Lancaster an apology."
Another nodded.
"So do all of us."
Richard slowly rose from his chair.
His voice cracked.
"I failed my wife."
Then he turned toward Lily.
"And I failed my daughter before I even knew her."
