PART 4 — The Woman He Never Understood

Serena stood in a quiet suite across the city.

Lily slept in the next room.

No crying.

No chaos.

Just silence.

Her cheek still burned slightly where he had hit her.

But her hands were steady.

On the table were three things:

  1. A legal acquisition file

  2. A bank control authorization sheet

  3. A sealed USB labeled “Board Evidence”

Her phone rang.

Unknown number.

She answered.

Julian’s voice cracked slightly.

“What did you do?”

Serena didn’t answer immediately.

She looked out at the city lights.

Then spoke softly.

“I stopped being your wife.”

A pause.

“You can’t do this,” he said.

Serena finally turned away from the window.

“I already did.”
