Robert didn’t wait for morning.
He walked straight into Evelyn’s room at 2:13 AM.
The door slammed open.
Linda froze.
Evelyn gasped.
Robert held the tablet in his hand—the recording still playing.
“Explain this,” he said quietly.
Linda’s expression changed instantly.
Not fear.
Calculation.
“Robert, you’re misunderstanding—”
“No,” he interrupted.
For the first time, his voice cracked with rage.
“I watched you.”
Silence filled the room.
Evelyn began crying quietly for the first time in years.
Robert stepped closer to Linda.
Forty years of marriage stood between them like a dying wall.
“You touched my mother,” he said.
Linda finally dropped the smile.
And in that moment, everything she had built—image, respect, trust—collapsed.
Two days later, police arrived.
Evelyn left the house holding Robert’s arm.
The neighbors were shocked.
“She was such a caring woman…” they whispered.
But the cameras inside the house had already told a different story.
