Chapter 2: The Billionaire Who Recognized the Impossible

Alexander had seen cruelty before.

Businessmen destroying companies.

Families betraying each other.

People sacrificing everything for money.

But watching a child cry on the floor disturbed something inside him.

Something he thought was already dead.

He walked toward Lily.

The entire ballroom became silent.

Everyone knew Alexander.

And everyone knew he never involved himself in meaningless matters.

But now...

The billionaire heir was kneeling on the marble floor.

Helping a little girl collect broken hairpins.

Eleanor stared in disbelief.

“Alexander, don't.”

He ignored her.

He picked up the silver hairpin.

At first, it meant nothing.

Just an old piece of jewelry.

But then the light from the chandelier reflected across the surface.

And he saw something.

A tiny engraving.

Almost invisible.

A symbol.

A crown.

Surrounded by three stars.

Alexander stopped breathing.

His fingers tightened around the hairpin.

Impossible.

No.

It couldn't be.

His face changed.

The cold billionaire disappeared.

For the first time in years...

Alexander looked afraid.

Because he knew that symbol.

Everyone in the Valemont family knew it.

It was the private crest of the royal bloodline.

A symbol only given to direct descendants.

A symbol that belonged to his family.

But that wasn't what shocked him.

It was the small letter engraved beneath the crown.

"I.V."

Isabella Valemont.

His missing sister.

His hands began shaking.

The ballroom disappeared around him.

Suddenly, he wasn't a billionaire.

He was seventeen again.

Standing outside his sister's bedroom.

Begging her to tell him what happened.

Remembering her tears.

Remembering her saying:

“Alex, if anything happens to me, protect my child.”

At the time, he thought she was just afraid.

He never imagined those words were a goodbye.

“Where did you get this?”

His voice was quiet.

But everyone heard it.

Lily looked at him.

“My mommy gave it to me.”

Alexander felt his heart stop.

“Your mother?”

The girl nodded.

“She said I had to keep it safe.”

She touched another hairpin inside her hand.

“She said one day someone from our family would find me.”

Alexander stared at her.

The little girl's eyes.

Her expression.

The shape of her face.

Suddenly everything felt impossible.

“What's your mother's name?”

Lily hesitated.

Then whispered:

“Isabella.”

The room exploded with silence.

Some guests gasped.

Others stepped back.

Victoria's face turned completely pale.

Alexander slowly stood.

His eyes never left Lily.

“No…”

His voice cracked.

“No, that's impossible.”

Lily looked confused.

“Do you know my mommy?”

Alexander couldn't answer.

Because the truth was destroying everything he believed.

His sister wasn't gone.

She had left behind a daughter.

A child nobody knew existed.

A child who carried the proof of the Valemont bloodline.

He looked at Victoria.

And immediately understood.

May you like

She knew.

She had always known.
