Nine months later, the courtroom was silent as the judge delivered the final sentence.
Vanessa was convicted on multiple felony charges, including elder abuse, fraud, forgery, and identity-related financial crimes.
As she was escorted away, she glanced back once.
Ethan never met her eyes.
Outside the courthouse, reporters waited for a statement.
Instead of speaking about betrayal, Ethan simply wrapped an arm around his mother's shoulders and guided her to the car.
