Chapter 4 – The Secret Everyone Missed

Victoria was recovering after receiving emergency treatment.

Doctors confirmed the allergic reaction had been severe but not fatal.

She requested a private meeting.

Only Noah, Chef Marco, Emma, and Olivia were invited.

Victoria looked exhausted.

"I want the truth."

Noah placed both order slips on the table.

"The order wasn't changed in the kitchen."

He slid the security photos beside them.

"It was changed before it ever reached Chef Rossi."

Olivia folded her arms.

"This proves nothing."

Noah smiled faintly.

"It proves enough."

He placed one final document onto the table.

A payroll report.

Olivia's employment contract.

Her position had been scheduled for elimination during the company's financial restructuring the following week.

Only one person knew.

Victoria.

Olivia's face lost its color.

"You were replacing me..."

Victoria remained silent.

"I gave this family twelve years."

"You stole from this family for two," Victoria answered quietly.

Everyone looked up.

"I knew about the missing expense accounts."

Olivia's breathing became uneven.

"I wasn't trying to kill you."

"No?"

Noah asked calmly.

"You removed a life-threatening allergy warning from a dinner order."

Olivia's voice cracked.

"I only wanted Emma blamed."

"I thought the kitchen would notice."

"But they didn't."

Silence settled over the room.

For the first time, Olivia realized the full weight of what she had done.
