Chapter 2: The Second Thing Patricia Destroyed
Patricia tried to recover her pride.
“This is ridiculous,” she snapped. “So you own a building. That does not make you worthy of this family.”
Clara’s expression did not change.
“No,” she said. “But it makes me the person responsible for every contract signed inside it.”
Mr. Alden opened the leather portfolio again and removed another folder.
Patricia’s confident face tightened.
Clara took the folder and held it up.
“This is the catering contract. The floral contract. The security contract. And the private agreement your family signed with this venue.”
Andrew’s father rose from the front row.
“Patricia,” he said slowly, “what did you do?”
Clara opened the file.
“Your wife tried to cancel my vendors this morning. She forged my signature on three documents and replaced my wedding staff with people loyal to her.”
Gasps spread through the ballroom.
Patricia’s face went white.
“That is a lie.”
Mr. Alden quietly handed Clara a tablet.
“Security footage confirms everything, Madam.”
Clara tapped the screen.
A large projector behind the altar lit up.
The guests watched Patricia enter the venue office that morning, arguing with staff, signing Clara’s name, and ordering workers to remove the original decorations.
Then came the final clip.
Patricia was seen taking Clara’s dress bag into a private room.
She wasn’t just angry in the ballroom.
She had planned the humiliation.
Andrew stared at the screen, horrified.
“Mom…”
Patricia turned on him instantly.
“I did this for you!”
