Chapter Eight Locker 214

The next morning, Clara gathered everyone in the Harper living room.
Richard.
George.
Julian.
Audrey.
No one spoke.
Finally Audrey placed Sienna's letter on the coffee table.
Julian frowned.
"What is this?"
"Read it."
As his eyes moved across the page, the color drained from his face.
"No..."
He read it again.
Then a third time.
His hands began shaking.
"Sienna wrote this?"
Father Michael nodded.
"I kept it sealed exactly as she requested."
Julian looked at Audrey.
For the first time since the wedding...
His anger disappeared.
Only confusion remained.
"You never saw this?"
She slowly shook her head.
"No."
Silence filled the room.
Julian whispered,
"Then..."
"...I've been wrong."
Clara answered quietly.
"You've been lied to."
By noon, the family drove to the abandoned Union Station.
Locker 214 stood near the back wall.
The silver key fit perfectly.
Julian hesitated before opening it.
Inside was a small metal box.
Nothing more.
Richard carefully lifted it out.
The lid creaked open.
Inside were dozens of cassette tapes.
Several flash drives.
And one thick envelope labeled:
Evidence.
George looked stunned.
"Sienna was collecting proof."
Proof of what?
Julian opened the envelope.
Inside were printed emails.
Bank records.
Anonymous letters.
Every document pointed toward one name.
Emily Carson.
"No..."
Julian whispered.
"It can't be Emily."
Audrey looked at him.
"You know her better than I do."
Julian nodded slowly.
"She disappeared after Sienna died."
Richard frowned.
May you like
"Maybe..."
"...she didn't disappear."
