CHAPTER 4 – THE WOMAN WHO WALKED AWAY

By sunrise, every major business network carried the same breaking story.

Collins Luxury Development Under Federal Investigation.

Investors fled.

Banks suspended credit lines.

Projects were halted nationwide.

Former partners rushed to protect themselves.

Inside the now-silent mansion, movers carefully removed paintings, sculptures, furniture—even the grand piano Adrian had once bragged about buying.

Each item carried the same inventory tag:

Property of Lawson Global Holdings.

Vanessa watched in horror.

"You told me this was ours!"

Adrian slammed his fist against the wall.

"It was!"

A mover quietly corrected him.

"No, sir."

"It never was."

Vanessa slowly removed the blue diamond necklace from her neck.

Its weight suddenly felt unbearable.

She placed it on the dining table.

"I didn't sign up for this."

Adrian looked at her desperately.

"Vanessa..."

She picked up her designer suitcase.

"You cheated on a woman who owned your entire world."

She laughed bitterly.

"I should've known how this would end."

The front door closed behind her.

This time...

Adrian was the one left alone.

Meanwhile, Claire walked through the headquarters of Lawson Global Holdings.

Employees greeted her with warm smiles.

She wasn't returning as an heiress.

She was returning as the executive her father had once trained to become.

Richard handed her a folder.

"I've been saving your office."

Claire opened the door.

Nothing inside had changed in ten years.

Even the family photograph remained on the desk.

She smiled through quiet tears.

"I'm ready."

May you like

Richard nodded.

"I know."
