Chapter 4: The Door She Walks Through Now

The delivery room doors burst open again.

But this time… it wasn’t chaos.

It was resolution.

Police.

Hospital security.

And Mark—handcuffed.

He shouted as he was dragged away.

“You think he saved you?! You don’t even know what you are!”

But Emily didn’t look at him.

She was looking at Adrian.

For the first time, her voice was steady.

“Am I safe now?”

Adrian hesitated.

Then shook his head.

“No.”

A pause.

“But you’re no longer alone.”

Emily’s tears finally fell—but not from fear.

From something deeper.

Loss. Truth. Rebirth.

Hours later, the baby cried for the first time.

Adrian stood by the window, watching the sunrise over the hospital.

Emily whispered weakly.

“What happens to me now?”

He turned back.

And for the first time in the entire story, he smiled.

“Now… you decide who you become.”

“And I’ll make sure no one ever takes that choice away again.”

ENDING

The camera pulls back.

A mother and newborn in a quiet hospital room.

A man standing guard—not as a stranger…

but as the last piece of a forgotten family.

And outside the window…

May you like

a world that no longer controls her story.

Fade out.
