Chapter 4 – The Final Hearing

Three months later, the divorce hearing lasted less than an hour.

Julian expected Amelia to seek revenge.

Instead, she asked for only what was legally hers.

No public humiliation.

No cruel speeches.

No celebration.

When the judge finalized the divorce, Julian quietly approached her outside the courthouse.

"I was going to apologize," he said.

Amelia looked at him with calm eyes.

"Were you going to apologize before you lost everything?"

He couldn't answer.

She gave him a small, almost sympathetic smile.

"Then you're apologizing to yourself, not to me."
