Chapter 19 — Nathan Sees the Truth
Daniel insisted Nathan watch the footage privately.
Nathan entered the security office angry.
"I don't have time for conspiracy theories."
Daniel simply pressed Play.
For nearly forty minutes...
Nathan didn't speak.
He watched Vanessa remove the silicone belly.
He watched her rearrange the bedroom.
He watched her cry on command before he arrived home.
He watched every lie.
When the final video ended...
The room became silent.
Nathan stared at the blank screen.
His hands shook violently.
"My son..."
His voice cracked.
"He was telling the truth."
Daniel nodded quietly.
Nathan buried his face in his hands.
He remembered every moment he had doubted Ethan.
Every harsh word.
Every disappointed look.
Every time Vanessa had manipulated him.
Then one question echoed through his mind.
"If the pregnancy is fake..."
"...why?"
Daniel answered softly,
"People rarely build a lie this complicated for only one reason."
