Chapter 17 — The Hidden Camera
Claire refused to believe Vanessa's accusations.
That evening, she drove to the Whitmore house.
Nathan refused to let her inside.
"You're making everything worse."
Claire looked directly at him.
"No."
"She's making everything worse."
Nathan slammed the door.
As Claire walked back toward her car, she noticed something glinting beneath the porch roof.
A tiny camera.
Then another above the garage.
Then another overlooking the backyard.
She frowned.
Nathan had installed security cameras years ago.
If Vanessa had truly accused Ethan of searching her room...
The cameras might reveal what really happened.
Claire immediately contacted the company's longtime security director, Daniel Ross.
Daniel had worked for the Whitmore family for twenty-two years.
More importantly...
He had never trusted Vanessa.
Quietly, he agreed to review the recordings.
