Chapter 5: The Wedding That Finally Began

Three months later...
The same ballroom looked completely different.
No secrets.
No fear.
No lies.
Only family.
Richard Langston had pleaded guilty to fraud, kidnapping, conspiracy, and attempted murder.
Emily's name had been cleared.
The stolen family foundation was restored.
Victoria's mother, though still recovering, sat proudly in the front row.
This time, Lily wasn't standing quietly in the corner.
She walked proudly down the aisle wearing a new white dress.
Around her neck hung the repaired gold locket.
Not as evidence anymore.
But as a reminder.
When Victoria reached the altar, she looked at the little girl first.
"If you hadn't been brave enough to tell the truth..."
"I would have married believing a lie."
Lily smiled shyly.
"I just did what your mom asked."
Victoria hugged her before turning back to Daniel.
The ceremony finally began.
No grand speech could match the lesson everyone had learned.
Sometimes the smallest voice carries the biggest truth.
Sometimes the child no one believes is the only one telling the truth.
And sometimes...
A broken locket can put an entire family back together.
As Victoria and Daniel shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the guests applauded through tears.
Lily looked down at the tiny photograph inside the locket one last time.
Beneath the faded picture was another sentence her grandmother had written years before.
"The truth always finds its way home."

This time...
It finally had.
