The kind employee was still kneeling on the marble.
Her coat was still wrapped around the girl’s shoulders.
She hadn’t moved.
Like she was afraid that if she did, the moment would disappear.
The billionaire finally turned his eyes toward her.
She stiffened immediately.
“I… I didn’t know who she was,” she whispered.
Her voice shook.
“I just couldn’t let her sit there alone.”
The silence stretched.
The manager stepped forward quickly.
“She disobeyed direct instructions. She refused security protocol—”
The billionaire raised one hand.
Not high.
Just enough.
The manager stopped speaking instantly.
His eyes stayed on the employee.
Then he said something unexpected.
“You stayed with her.”
The employee blinked, confused.
“I… yes.”

Then he nodded once.
“Keep your job.”
The manager froze.
