CHAPTER 2 — THE MAN WHO KNEELED

The doors of the mansion suddenly opened.
Not dramatically.
Not loudly.
Just firmly.
A young man in a black groom suit entered.
His steps stopped instantly.
His eyes locked on the maid.
The entire room waited for him to speak.
The bride smiled confidently.
“Finally. Tell her to leave.”
But the groom did not move toward the bride.
He walked past her.
Past the mother.
And then—
He dropped to his knees in front of the maid.
The sound of impact on marble was soft.
But the meaning was explosive.
“Chairwoman Consecshure,” he said quietly, head lowered.
The room froze.
The bride’s smile vanished.
“…What did you call her?”
The groom didn’t look back.
“She is the Chairwoman of Consecshure Global Holdings.”
A long silence followed.
Even the air felt heavier.

The maid slowly set down her cloth.
For the first time, she stopped working.
