Chapter 3 – The Daughter They Tried to Erase

Enzo confronted Richard Whitcomb during a lavish charity gala attended by judges, politicians, and CEOs.

"You lied."

Richard smiled smoothly.

"I've told many lies. You'll need to be specific."

Enzo placed a certified copy of Harper's birth record onto the table.

The smile vanished.

Around them, conversations slowly faded.

Richard whispered,

"Where did you get that?"

"So it's real."

Richard's composure finally cracked.

"She can never know."

"Why?"

"Because Isabella Moretti wasn't just your family's ally."

He leaned closer.

"She was your uncle's wife."

Enzo felt the room tilt.

Richard continued.

"When Isabella discovered financial crimes involving powerful partners, they arranged a fatal car crash."

"Harper survived."

"But if anyone knew whose daughter she truly was..."

"They would have finished the job."

Richard had taken the child, changed her name, buried every record—and then controlled her through fear, isolation, and violence to ensure she never searched for the past.
