CHAPTER 17 The First Secret

The photograph changed everything.

"The first?"

Daniel looked confused.

Noah's expression became serious.

"The first child."

Emma looked at him.

"You said Noah was the first."

Noah shook his head.

"I was the first official child."

Daniel stared.

"Official?"

Noah nodded.

"There was someone before me."

The detective stepped closer.

"Who?"

Noah looked at the photograph.

"I don't know."

Daniel became frustrated.

"How can you not know?"

"Because Richard erased everything."

Emma looked at the scratched face.

"Someone wanted us to find this."

Noah nodded.

"Exactly."

"They're leading us."

"Yes."

"Why?"

Noah looked at Daniel.

"Because they want the family to destroy itself."

Daniel said nothing.

Because deep down...

He knew Noah was right.

The Harrington family had survived for decades because secrets stayed buried.

Now every secret was being dragged into the light.

The detective received a call.

He answered.

A few seconds later, his expression changed.

"What happened?"

He looked at Daniel.

"We found another location."

"Where?"

"An abandoned Harrington property outside the city."

Emma felt a strange feeling.

"Why?"

The detective hesitated.

"Because someone sent coordinates."

Daniel asked:

"Who?"

The detective looked at his phone.

"The message was signed."

He turned the screen around.

Everyone saw the name.

Richard Harrington.

Silence.

Daniel whispered:

"My father is dead."

May you like

Noah looked toward the window.

"But someone is using his name."
