Chapter 3: Every Lie Leaves Evidence

Adrian refused to believe it.

"There has to be a mistake."

"There are contracts."

"There are accounts."

"There are offshore companies."

Madam Boss looked almost amused.

"I know."

"I created them."

She turned toward the lawyer.

"Show him."

The large television slowly came alive.

Security footage.

Emails.

Voice recordings.

Bank transfers.

Every affair.

Every hidden account.

Every bribe.

Every forged signature.

The lawyer spoke without emotion.

"For three years..."

"We collected everything."

The mistress's face turned white.

She recognized one recording immediately.

It was her voice.

Laughing.

"I'll leave him once I get half."

Adrian slowly turned toward her.

"You said..."

"You loved me."

She couldn't answer.

Because another recording began.

This time...

Adrian himself.

"If she dies before the inheritance transfers..."

"Everything becomes mine."

The room went silent.

Even the city outside seemed to stop breathing.

Madam Boss never looked away.

"I was never dying."

The blood?

She removed a tiny capsule hidden inside her sleeve.

"Stage blood."

"I wanted the truth."

"And you gave me more than enough."

The lawyer handed another document to the police officers who had quietly entered the penthouse.

"Mr. Adrian Blackwood..."

"You are under investigation for fraud, conspiracy, tax evasion, and attempted financial murder."

Handcuffs clicked shut.

The mistress burst into tears.

Adrian didn't.

He simply stood there...

Realizing every trap had already been waiting for him.
