The hallway stayed silent for exactly three seconds after Isabella’s words.

Eleanor’s expression didn’t crack — but something behind her eyes did.

Adrian slowly stepped away from her hand on his shoulder.

“Cameras?” he repeated, almost unheard.

Isabella didn’t answer. She didn’t need to.

She was already looking at the ceiling.

Hidden between gold moldings — small black lenses no one ever questioned.

Eleanor’s voice softened.

“That’s absurd… you think I would—”

But Isabella interrupted quietly.

“I don’t think.”

A pause.

“I know.”

Her phone lit up in her hand.
