By sunrise, Daniel had stopped feeling angry.

He met his attorney before returning home.

Bank transfers.

Private emails.

Hidden surveillance.

Victoria had received millions through shell companies over the years.

Every payment matched moments when Daniel had transferred family assets into joint ownership.

She hadn't married him for love.

She had married him as part of a long-term financial scheme.

A DNA report.

Daniel frowned.

"What is this?"

The investigator looked uneasy.

"You asked us to verify every family record."

Daniel slowly opened the envelope.

His hands began to shake.

He was their biological father.

A prenatal medical file.

Victoria had secretly consumed alcohol and prescription sedatives throughout her pregnancy despite repeated medical warnings.

Multiple doctors had documented the behavior.

She had hidden every report.

Daniel closed his eyes.

His children had been endangered before they were even born.

That afternoon, Victoria walked into the mansion expecting another argument.

Emily wasn't wearing a nanny uniform anymore.

She wore ordinary clothes, standing tall despite the bruises still visible on her wrists.

Daniel placed a folder on the dining table.

"It's over."

Victoria laughed.

"You don't have enough evidence."

The lead detective opened another folder.

"We do."

"Kidnapping."

"False imprisonment."

"Felony assault."

"Child endangerment."

"Obstruction of emergency medical care."

Each charge hit harder than the last.

Victoria's confidence disappeared.

As officers placed handcuffs around her wrists, she looked at Daniel in disbelief.
