CHAPTER 10 — The Woman Who Disappeared

San Francisco fog covered the morning skyline.
Mara stood at the edge of a bus station.
Different clothes now.
Simple.
Unrecognizable.
Her suitcase was gone.
So was her past.
The baby moved gently inside her.
She placed a hand on her belly.
Not fear.
Not regret.
Just certainty.
Behind her, the city kept moving.
Cars.
Voices.
Money.
Power.
Everything she used to live inside.
But no longer belonged to.
She stepped forward.
And disappeared into the crowd.
ENDING NOTE

May you like
He never owned Mara Hale.
