CHAPTER 4 — The Father, The Truth, and The Price

Ricardo stepped closer to Valeria.

His voice softened.

“You don’t need to stay for this ending.”

Valeria looked down at her belly.

Then at Santiago.

Something unresolved flickered between them.

History.

Pain.

Memory.

Santiago took one step forward.

“I can change,” he said suddenly. “I can fix this. For the baby—”

Ricardo raised a hand.

Instant silence.

“No,” Ricardo said. “You don’t get to use that word.”

The room froze.

Then—

A sudden sound.

A second front door opening.

Another presence entered.

A woman.

Young.

Familiar.

Santiago’s expression collapsed.

“Lucía…?”

Valeria turned slowly.

Ricardo exhaled once.

“Now you know the rest,” he said quietly.

Lucía looked at Santiago.

Then at Valeria.

Then at Ricardo.

“I wasn’t supposed to come,” she said softly.

But her eyes said otherwise.

She held a file.

Stamped.

Court sealed.

Emergency custody override.

Valeria whispered:

“What is that?”

Lucía looked at her.

And answered with one sentence that shattered everything:

“It’s proof that the baby you’re carrying… was never legally meant to belong to Santiago at all.”

Silence.

Absolute.

Santiago staggered back.

Beatriz dropped the wine glass.

It shattered on marble like a gunshot.

Ricardo closed his eyes briefly.

And then—

The mansion’s security system locked all exits.

Red lights activated.

A voice echoed through hidden speakers:

“LOCKDOWN PROTOCOL INITIATED.”

Valeria slowly looked at everyone in the room.

Then whispered:

“This wasn’t my father’s plan…”

Ricardo opened his eyes.

For the first time—

He looked uncertain.

And said:

“No… it wasn’t.”

END OF PART 4 — CLIFFHANGER

A hidden third party had just taken control of everything.

And none of them knew who.

May you like

Or why.

Or what they wanted with Valeria’s baby.
