"I'm Detective Harris."
Tyler frowned.
"What is this about?"
"We're investigating allegations of criminal neglect."
His face turned pale.
The detective placed several photographs on the kitchen table.
Pictures of the nursery.
The blood-soaked carpet.
The towels.
The medical report documenting how much blood I had lost.
Then came the hospital timeline.
2:14 p.m. — Emergency call placed.
2:26 p.m. — Ambulance arrival.
3:07 p.m. — Emergency surgery.
Estimated survival window if untreated: less than one hour.
Detective Harris folded his hands.
"Did your wife ask you to call an ambulance?"
Tyler remained silent.
"Did she tell you she believed she was dying?"
Silence again.
"Were you aware she had given birth eight days earlier?"
He whispered,
"Yes."
The detective nodded slowly.
"We've also obtained your social media posts made during that same period."
