“Those who attack America’s police officers can run, but they can’t hide,” he added.

The case is being handled by the office of Bill Essayli, the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California.
Essayli confirmed that Reyna now faces a felony charge of assault on a federal officer, a serious offense under federal law.
In a statement, the prosecutor noted that the Border Patrol officer who took Reyna into custody had been inside one of the vehicles damaged during the June attack.
“He was taken into custody by a U.S. Border Patrol officer who was inside one of the vehicles damaged in the attack,” Essayli said, describing the officer as a “brave law-enforcement official who could have been killed in last month’s dangerous and reckless attack.”
Essayli also warned that authorities will pursue individuals who attack federal agents.
“To anyone who believes they can assault federal officers and hide behind masks or helmets, today’s arrest demonstrates that we can identify and charge those who violate federal law,” he said.
