Rachel threw open the closet.
A woman burst out holding a hunting knife.
The blade flashed inches from Rachel's face.
The officers wrestled her to the floor after a violent struggle that left two of them bleeding.
Handcuffs clicked shut.
The woman never stopped smiling.
"She wasn't supposed to wake up," she whispered.
Rachel's stomach tightened.
"What does that mean?"

"You came too early."
