Chapter 2: The Blood Signature

The door burst open.
Emma pressed herself deeper under the piano as light flooded the room.
Boots stepped onto marble.
“Search everywhere,” one man ordered. “She has to be in here.”
Above her, the piano keys trembled slightly as dust fell through the strings.
Emma didn’t move.
Her father’s words replayed in her mind.
You’re the key.
The men tore through shelves, paintings, even lifting rugs.
Then one of them paused near the piano.
“This one… check it.”
A hand reached down.
Emma closed her eyes—
—but the piano suddenly released a soft mechanical click.
A hidden compartment opened inside its base.
A biometric scanner lit up.
The man froze.
“Wait… it’s active—”
Too late.
A voice echoed through the room from the mansion’s intercom system:
“ACCESS DENIED.”
Every lock in the house shifted.
Doors sealed. Alarms muted. Lights turned red.
And Vivienne’s voice cut through the system, furious.
“She triggered it. I told you the girl would activate it early.”
Emma stared at the glowing scanner.
A message appeared:
MATCH CONFIRMED: BLOODLINE AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED
Emma’s hand began to shake.
She whispered, “What bloodline…?”

And far away, her father finally said the truth.
“Your mother didn’t die in an accident, Emma. She hid something inside you.”
