CHAPTER 2 — THE BROTHER WHO STOPPED TIME

Ambulance sirens began to echo through the courthouse plaza.

But Harrison didn’t move when paramedics arrived.

He controlled the space like it was his courtroom.

“No one touches her until I say so,” he said coldly.

A paramedic hesitated.

Then saw his face.

And stepped back.

Richard finally moved forward.

“Khloe—” he started.

Harrison turned.

That was all.

One look.

Richard stopped breathing mid-step.

“You will not speak her name,” Harrison said quietly.

Vanessa stood frozen, her confidence collapsing under the weight of what she had done.

“I didn’t—she pushed me first—” she tried.

Harrison walked one step closer.

Then another.

“You pushed a pregnant woman down a courthouse staircase.”

His voice lowered.

“That is not a misunderstanding.”

That was the moment Vanessa understood.
