CHAPTER 3 — EVIDENCE NEVER DIES

Inside the ambulance, Khloe fought to stay conscious.
Her hand gripped Harrison’s sleeve.
“Harry…” she whispered.
“I know,” he said immediately.
Even before she spoke.
“I know everything.”
Her eyes filled with tears.
“Don’t let him take my baby away from me.”
Harrison leaned closer.
And for the first time in his career, his control cracked.
“No one is taking anything from you again.”
Outside, paramedics loaded her in.
But Harrison had already started moving.
His phone was in his hand.
One call.
To a federal judge.
Another call.
To a district attorney.
Then a third.
To someone no one in the courthouse knew existed.
“Freeze Harrington assets,” he said.
A pause.
May you like
“Every single one.”
The war had started before Khloe reached the hospital.
