CHAPTER 1 — THE GLASS THAT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE TOUCHED

CHAPTER 1 — THE GLASS THAT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE TOUCHED
The wedding hall glittered like a dream built to impress gods.
Crystal chandeliers hung above rows of elite guests, scattering golden light over polished marble floors. Laughter echoed softly, champagne glasses clinked, and every smile in the room was carefully rehearsed.
At the center of it all stood the bride.
White lace dress.
Perfect posture.
A smile that looked soft enough to hide anything.
Beside her, the groom raised a glass for the final toast.
A moment of celebration.
A moment of completion.
But from the corner of the hall, a maid suddenly moved.
Too fast.
Too desperate.
“No—don’t drink it!”
Before anyone could process her words, she lunged forward and snatched the glass from the groom’s hand.
It hit the marble floor and shattered instantly.
The sound cracked through the hall like a gunshot.
Silence followed.
Then chaos.
“WHAT did she just do?”
“Is she insane?”
Security stepped forward—but froze when the maid raised her trembling hands.
“I’m begging you… don’t drink that,” she gasped. “Something has been put in it!”
The groom frowned, stunned, confused.
The bride, however, did not move.
For a second.
Then she stepped forward.
And slapped the maid across the face.
Hard.
The sound echoed.
Gasps exploded through the crowd.
The maid stumbled back, holding her cheek, tears forming instantly—but she didn’t fall.
She didn’t leave.
She looked at the groom.
And shouted, voice breaking:
“I didn’t destroy the glass to ruin your wedding—I did it to save your life!”
The bride’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“What kind of rudeness is this?” she said coldly. “Accusing me on my wedding day?”
The room shifted uneasily.
Whispers spread like fire.
The groom looked between them, frozen.
“Explain,” he finally said.
The maid swallowed hard.
Her hands shook as she reached into her apron pocket.
And pulled out her phone.
“I have proof.”
A suffocating silence fell.
She pressed play.
And the screen lit up.
High-definition footage.
The bride.
Alone.
In the preparation room.
Her hands steady.
Deliberate.
Dropping a small pill into the groom’s celebratory drink.
Gasps erupted instantly.
The groom’s face drained of color.
“No…” he whispered.
The video continued.
The bride calmly stirring the glass.
Smiling.
Like nothing was wrong.
The hall turned cold.
The groom’s hand trembled as he lowered his drink slowly.
As if it had suddenly become foreign.
Dangerous.
Impossible to trust.
The bride did not move.
She did not deny it.
She only stared at the maid.
And smiled faintly.
But it was no longer a wedding smile.
It was something else entirely.
Something darker.
The maid stepped forward, tears falling now.
“I only wanted to save your life…” she whispered.
The groom looked at the woman he had just married.
And for the first time that night—
he did not recognize her at all.
The chandeliers above them still sparkled.
The guests still stood frozen.
May you like
But the wedding had already died.
And something far worse had just begun.
