CHAPTER 3 — The Fall of Nicolás Ferrer

Security guards tried to move—but the system rejected their access codes.

Doors remained sealed.

Phones still had no signal.

The building had turned into a controlled environment designed by someone else.

And that someone was still standing there, breathing evenly.

Nicolás rushed forward, grabbing Valeria’s arm.

“You can’t do this! Do you know who my father is?!”

Valeria didn’t even flinch.

“Yes,” she said. “That’s why I started with him.”

A new notification flashed across the screen:

FERRER GROUP: FROZEN BY LEGAL ORDER

Another:

ASSETS TRANSFERRED — EXECUTION COMPLETE

Nicolás shook his head violently.

“This is theft!”

Valeria looked at him for a long moment.

“No,” she replied. “This is accounting.”

The doors finally unlocked—not to let people out, but to let authorities in.

Red and blue lights flooded the ballroom glass walls.

Police sirens echoed through the estate.

Nicolás stepped back, trembling now.

For the first time, he understood something terrifying:

He wasn’t trapped with Valeria.

Valeria had been waiting for him to trap himself.
