Chapter 2: The Hidden Betrayal

Daniel left the altar with Emma beside him, the unopened future replacing the wedding ceremony they had planned.
Together they followed the maid to an abandoned lakeside cabin outside the city.
There, hidden beneath loose floorboards, was an old metal box.
Inside were journals, financial documents, and a video cassette.
When they finally watched the recording, Daniel saw the impossible.
His father was alive when the mansion burned.
The fire had been staged.
He had disappeared willingly after discovering that his own business partners—and someone inside the family—had planned to steal the company worth billions.
But the greatest betrayal came next.
His father spoke directly into the camera.
"If anything happens to me... don't blame strangers."
He paused.
"It was your mother who warned them I knew."
Emma looked toward Daniel.
His entire childhood had been built on a lie.
Before they could process everything, headlights appeared outside the cabin.
Someone had followed them.
The maid quietly whispered,
"They've been watching us ever since I spoke."
Masked men surrounded the cabin.
Daniel grabbed Emma's hand.
