Chapter 1: The Camera Never Blinked

Silence settled over the mansion.

Not the peaceful kind.

The suffocating silence that comes after violence.

The woman in red stared at the security camera mounted above the staircase.

For the first time that evening, she understood she had made a mistake.

A permanent one.

The man in the tuxedo never raised his voice.

He simply reached into his jacket and removed his phone.

One touch.

The mansion's private security system connected instantly.

"I need the footage from the foyer," he said calmly.

"No edits. No delays."

Within seconds, every television inside the mansion flickered to life.

The crystal chandelier reflected the images across polished marble walls.

The footage replayed from three different angles.

There was no confusion.

No missing details.

Everyone watched the pregnant woman quietly backing away.

Everyone watched the shove.

Everyone watched the gold heel slowly crushing her trembling hand.

Gasps echoed throughout the house as relatives who had hidden upstairs came rushing into the foyer.

The woman in red tried to interrupt.

"This is out of context—"

"Be quiet."

His voice remained almost gentle.

Yet every word landed like a judge's hammer.

She obeyed.

Because for the first time...

Someone else controlled the story.

The pregnant woman sat against the staircase, still protecting her unborn child with one arm.

Her breathing was uneven.

Her white dress carried faint streaks of dust from the marble floor.

The man knelt beside her.

"Did you hit your stomach?"

She shook her head.

"I don't think so."

"I won't take that chance."

He carefully lifted her into his arms.

As he carried her toward the front door, he looked once over his shoulder.

"Nobody leaves."

The heavy steel gates outside the mansion slowly closed.

Locked.

The woman in red suddenly realized she wasn't a victim.

She was now the suspect.
