By noon, Ethan’s life had become a sequence of disappearing privileges.
First: his corporate email refused to load.
Then: HR stopped responding.
Then: the company driver didn’t show up.
Finally, a short message arrived:
“Effective immediately, your executive access has been revoked pending board review.”
Ethan stared at his phone like it had betrayed him personally.
“This is sabotage,” he whispered.
But even as he said it, doubt crept in.
Because everything was too precise.
Too clean.
Too absolute.
Meanwhile, Linda sat in the passenger seat of her own car outside the gated driveway, still trying to process one sentence:
