Chapter 1: The Walls Begin to Collapse

The words hung in the air long after Richard ended the call.

"Erase him from this world."

Silence swallowed the room.

Marcus tried to laugh, but nothing came out except a dry, broken breath. For the first time in years, the young executive who had spent his life believing wealth could solve anything discovered something terrifying.

Richard wasn't threatening him.

He was informing him.

The older man's phone buzzed once.

He glanced at the screen before slipping it calmly into his pocket.

"They've secured every exit," Richard said. "No one leaves this estate until the police finish collecting evidence."

Marcus' confidence cracked.

"What evidence?"

Richard looked toward the massive television mounted above the marble fireplace.

"Play it."

One of the security supervisors nodded.

The screen flickered to life.

The room immediately filled with surveillance footage recorded only twenty-three minutes earlier.

Every guest watched in stunned silence.

There was Marcus.

Dragging Elena by her wrist through the hospital corridor.

There was the violent shove.

There was the kick.

There was his mistress, Vanessa, standing nearby with folded arms and a satisfied smile while nurses rushed toward the pregnant woman lying on the floor.

Not a single angle missed anything.

Multiple cameras.

Crystal-clear audio.

Every insult.

Every threat.

Every lie.

Marcus felt every eye in the room settle on him.

His business partners slowly stepped away.

Board members avoided looking at him.

Even Vanessa's face had turned white.

Richard spoke without raising his voice.

"You weren't destroying a marriage tonight."

May you like

He paused.

"You were creating a criminal case."
