CHAPTER 3: THE MEN BEHIND THE LIES

The video revealed everything.

Fifteen years earlier, Daniel's father had uncovered a massive fraud operation inside Reed Holdings.

Millions of dollars had been disappearing through shell companies.

The mastermind was not an outsider.

It was Victor Lang.

The family's trusted business partner.

The man who had stood beside Daniel's father for decades.

When Daniel's sister discovered proof, she tried to expose him.

Victor acted first.

He forged evidence.

Spread rumors.

Manipulated the media.

Then he convinced everyone she had run away.

When Daniel's father resisted, Victor threatened his family.

To protect his children, Daniel's father signed false statements and remained silent.

The guilt destroyed him.

Eventually, it killed him.

Daniel watched the final seconds of the video.

His sister looked directly into the camera.

"If anything happens to me, don't seek revenge."

She paused.

"Seek the truth."

The next morning Daniel called an emergency board meeting.

Victor Lang arrived smiling.

Confident.

Untouchable.

At least until Daniel projected the evidence onto the giant conference screen.

The room fell silent.

Emails appeared.

Financial records followed.

Then came witness statements.

Finally, Daniel played his sister's video.

Victor's face turned white.

For the first time in fifteen years, the truth stood in daylight.

Security officers entered the room.

Victor tried to leave.

They stopped him.

The board voted unanimously to remove him.

Hours later, federal investigators arrived.

By sunset, Victor Lang was in handcuffs.

But Daniel had only one question left.

Where was his sister?
