By the time Evelyn returned to the lobby, television cameras filled the entrance.

Evelyn paused.
Daniel leaned closer.
"You don't have to answer."
She looked toward the cameras.

"Then why come today dressed like an average customer?"
Evelyn answered honestly.
"Because millions of our customers are average people."
"If I cannot experience what they experience..."
"I don't deserve to lead this institution."
The lobby became completely silent.
Another reporter raised his voice.
"Will the security guard be fired?"
Evelyn immediately replied,
"Absolutely not."
"He respected the rules."
"In fact..."
"He protected our bank."

His eyes filled with surprise.

Evelyn continued,
"Our employees will receive additional training."
"No customer should ever feel invisible."
"No matter their clothes."
"No matter the size of their account."
"No matter who they are."
The interview spread across every major news network before the afternoon ended.
Millions watched.
Customers praised the bank online.
Business schools requested copies of the interview.
Other financial institutions announced similar customer-service reforms within days.
But the greatest surprise came the following morning.
The elderly janitor who had quietly cleaned the lobby for twenty-two years received a handwritten letter.
